Me, Myself & I
I want to share here a bit about who I am and why I went down the road of Psychotherapy. I was born into a very spiritual family and my spiritual life and practice is very much a part of who I am, it has provided me with great strength when I felt I had none. My father was also attracted to positive psychology literature, so growing up, I read many books that helped my self development. All of this provided me with great values and principles that I live by and can understand the world and human nature with. Although there was great positivity in my life, I went through many personal struggles and it was through these struggles that I was able to apply what I had been given (sometimes reluctantly) and grow. Experiencing pain, allowed me to understand another’s pain, which I believe helps me to be a good therapist.
The Psychotherapy Road
When I was 14 years old, my friend and I, whilst walking through school were discussing what we “want to be when we grow up”. In a very honest way, I told my friend how I was really interested in the mind and why people act the way they do. I said I wanted to work with people one on one and maybe help people also. Little did I know at 14, I was describing psychotherapy. So I followed my heart and here I am.
